Tooth Fillings

When a tooth has plaque on it that is allowed to stay on it for an extended period of time you may develop a cavity.  A cavity is tooth decay that has penetrated through the enamel of the tooth far enough that the tooth cannot heal on its own.  When this happens we will need to place a bonded resin restoration in the tooth after removing the diseased tooth structure that same day.  If the cavity is too large we may have to place either a porcelain restoration called an “Inlay or Onlay” on the tooth which will be done in 2 appointments.

Advantages of Tooth-Colored Restorations

There are many advantages to tooth-colored restorations. Resin onlays are bonded to the teeth creating a tight, superior fit to the natural tooth. Such restorations can be used in instances where much of the tooth structure has been lost. The tooth remains intact and stronger.

Since the resin used in tooth-colored restorations contain fluoride this can help prevent decay. The resin wears like natural teeth and does not require placement at the gum line, which is healthier for your gums!

The result is a beautiful smile!

Dr. Reece and his staff are the best. They work with me and my children, who live all over the country, to get them in for dental appointments, and they provide the best care. They ROCK!!

Thank you to Dr. Reece and his assistant Jeanette for the care they provided my daughter, Emerson, age 5. She needed a filling and was nervous and afraid. They were able to calm her and get the work done quickly. We left feeling the experience was very positive! I am grateful for the patience and expertise they possess.

Though I have been a patient since 1997, this was my first appointment with this Dentist. The Doctor was very kind, and I had no pain with this procedure. I would highly recommend this Dentist to my friends and coworkers.

I have been going to the same dentist in another state for 20+ years (even though I moved 1000+ miles away 10 years ago) because I had a bad experience as a child and still have drill/dentist phobia. I am so glad someone recommended your practice to me. Every experience, from my initial phone call, last week's consultation, and today's cleaning and fillings, has been absolutely amazing (well, as amazing as an experience at the dentist can be). I am so impressed with everyone who works there--caring, polite and sensitive to my needs as an individual. I will definitely recommend your practice to friends. Even though it is a little out of the way, I'm not going anywhere else!
