Treating Your Discolored Teeth

Professional Teeth Whitening

This is what you normally think of when you think of getting your teeth whitened. Professional teeth whitening is much better than over-the-counter products. Drugstore whitening kits are usually one size fits all, which leads to uneven results. These products can also cause harm to your gums and soft tissue with the bleaching product.

Teeth whitening in Concord

The KOR method involves a longer, comprehensive process, but the results are worth it. Dr. Reece will provide custom whitening trays designed to fit your smile perfectly. Bleaching gel is put in these trays, and you wear them overnight for about 6-10 hours. The trays seal out saliva, making the treatment as productive as possible.

After two weeks of this at-home treatment, you’ll continue to do the at-home sessions and then have one in-office session. After a month, you’ll have a mixture of at-home treatment and multiple sessions in the office. The last 6-8 weeks are like this as well. You’ll have an even, bright smile in a way that minimizes any sensitivity. Learn more about teeth whitening here.

Porcelain Veneers

Some stains and conditions make your teeth resistant to traditional whitening methods. These include having a dead tooth or stains that are genetic or from certain medications. Porcelain veneers offer a solid solution. Veneers are made of a thin shell of durable, high-quality dental ceramic that goes over the front and sides of your tooth. They’re made to last and are resistant to stains.

If porcelain veneers are your option, Dr. Reece will remove a small amount of tooth structure from the front of your tooth. Impressions are taken so that the veneers can be custom-made for you. Dr. Reece will ensure they look and feel natural for you when they’re ready. They are then permanently bonded to your teeth. Veneers are designed to last for years.

Dental Bonding

Dental bonding may be the choice if you need an economical option or aren’t ready to commit to a permanent form of restoration. The bonding material is made of a biocompatible resin that can be color-matched to the rest of your smile. It can be shaped and molded, so it fits perfectly on your tooth.

Similar to porcelain veneers, a small amount of tooth structure will be removed. Once you’re satisfied with the color of the resin, it’ll be applied and shaped to your tooth. Once you and Dr. Reece are both happy with the results, the resin will be cured and hardened with a special light. The resin is then polished to match the gleam of your natural teeth.
